Mrs. Carmen L. Baylies is the owner and creator of CLB. She dreams of creating a conversation for people to grow and achieve their dreams while establishing a legacy. CLB strives to produce quality work that inspires people to express their dreams creatively and enrich how future generations perceive today’s actions through fictional prose and thought-provoking commentary. By investing in innovative ideas, exercising her faith, and moving forward with an operational intention, Mrs. Baylies desires to add her insights to the world – Carmen Style.
With a background in Business Administration from Durham Technical Community College that she acquired later in life, Mrs. Baylies constructed CLB to allow her writing dream to flourish and harness her skills in business. Her plan to grow her business and encourage others to seek a better version of themselves remains the purpose and mission. Having several years in customer service, security, hospitality, and managerial roles, Carmen plans to use all her experiences to craft stories that helped to inspire her to reach her own goals and help society grow. The range of topics that CLB intends to explore varies. Examples of topics include, but are not limited to, love, sports, politics, arts, future, history, time, fiction excerpts, musings, and faith. The goals of the company’s blog are an exploration of these topics.
Carmen, a native of Durham, North Carolina, married a man she knew from grade school. Amazingly, after a separation of 17 years, the pair crossed paths through a virtual social media suggestion (Thanks, Facebook!). However, life seemed not quite ready for the couple. Six years passed from the initial cyber connection before the two ventured into a more sustainable relationship. The friendship bloomed into a loving relationship. The whirlwind courtship breezed by as they shared nuptials at the Spruce Pine Lodge in Durham, North Carolina, in the late summer of 2018.
