Leap Day Breakfast

On this last day in February, I awoke early and prepared for a follow-up dental appointment since the appointment was at 8 am. – I held off on breakfast. The oral surgeon gave me an excellent report as he assessed his work and my progress. Peter drove me home after confirming the surgeon’s last follow-up session. The journey of repairing my smile, or at least the oral surgeon part, finishes with the upcoming check.

The moment we returned home, we made a beeline to the kitchen. My darling husband perked the morning beverage, and the aroma filled the kitchen to enhance our productivity. He toasted the bagels while I collected our plates, cups, and other breakfast items. The craving for this bagel was unreal and worth the wait.

Conclusion: Breakfast is an essential meal of the day, and when you make it with love, the experience is at the next level. Yum!

Let Me See…

Systane provides needed moisture for my eyes, especially as the weather changes. For full disclosure, my eye health history involves wearing glasses since I was in elementary school with severe near-sightedness. In my mid-twenties, I was a candidate for Laser Eye Surgery – which did amazing for my vision. Now in my forties, I use glasses for prolonged computer screen usage, for sun protection, and fashion. The gel drops combo gives a dynamic punch to my dry eye needs. The dry eye is the only lingering effect from the surgery I experienced.

2021 Winter Health Update

Boosted and ready to go!

I received my initial vaccination doses in the earlier part of the year. After speaking with my healthcare provider and family, my husband and I decided to schedule an appointment to receive the booster shot. He coped with his administered shot; however, I experienced cold and flu-type symptoms a few days after my injection.

I spiked a slight fever and experienced chills. I recovered to nearly normal health about 48 hours later. My only lingering complaint was that the injection point remained tender to the touch for about a week. After speaking with my healthcare provider, she advised steps to combat side effects. Overall, I felt better and more confident during the holidays when seeing family members and while traveling.

I pray everyone speaks with a trusted medical source to answer questions and uses their faith to guide them to reliable solutions for their family and loved ones. With the new year approaching, the mind, body, and spirit need rejuvenation energy; find your motivation and stay true to the cause.
